We can provide free presentations and trainings to staff or students about substance use topics such as:

Smiling Volunteers

 Narcan Training

A Naloxone/Narcan training that focuses on stigma reduction, community safety, and overdose response. Important, empowering information for youth and adults of all ages.

Prime for Life

Prime for Life is another evidence-based program that focuses on substance use prevention, including alcohol and cannabis, at the universal, selected, or indicated levels within the student body.

Man Vaping

Catch My Breath

“CATCH My Breath” is a curriculum-based program to help address vaping and tobacco use in the student  population. 

Emerging Substance Use Concerns for Teachers & Parents 

Presentations around emerging and relevant substance use concerns for parents and teachers to be aware of. Includes topics such as prescription medication misuse, counterfeit pills, kratom, delta-8, underage drinking and cannabis use, fentanyl, and other concerns. 

Prevention Programs & Services

RBS Training

Responsible Beverage Service training teaches servers to responsibly serve alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption and mitigate alcohol-related harm in our communities.

Narcan & Stigma Reduction Training

Community promotion of naloxone use, awareness about the Good Samaritan law, and community use of safe needle exchange.

Reducing Stigma about Substance-Use Disorder

PBCHP partners with the Coastal Recovery Community Center, Journey Magazine, Volunteers of America, the local recovery community and many others to fight stigma around substance use disorder.

Nutrition Resources & Education

We aim to support the ability of individuals to recover from difficult situations and maintain good health by imparting knowledge about nutrition and making available various resources within the recovery and reentry communities.

Policy Creation

We assist schools and businesses in creating policies about substance use. 

Re-entry Supports

We partner with the Volunteers of America Northern New England to provide brand-new backpacks full of supplies, resources & information for people exiting incarceration and re-entering the community.

Prevention Education

We provide in school education about substance use prevention (vaping, underage drinking, prescription drug misuse,

and more).

Safe Medication
Storage & Disposal

Promotion of drug takeback days, use of Deterra bags, and information about prescription drug misuse.

PBCHP partners with Knox and Waldo county sheriffs offices to provide and promote Deterra bags being available to the public. 

PhotoVoice Project

A resilience building program with school age kids using disposable cameras to capture what inspires strength, connection, and hope.

PBCHP has partnered with The Landing Place and Trekkers to do Photovoice projects.

Monthly Partnership Meetings

Community Partnership Meetings aim to unite different community resources together in service of "prevention - recovery - community safety." We are law enforcement-led, recovery-minded, and cycle through discussion community topics and speakers. Our goal is to gather and inspire collaboration across community resources that are all connected.

 

We meet every month, both in-person and on Zoom!
